Data sources and methodology
Where every number on The Arsenal Review comes from, and how it is checked.
Sources
- Premier League results 1992-93 to 2025-26: openfootball (public domain). Season tables, head-to-heads and records are computed from these match files.
- Current season — fixtures, results in all competitions, the Premier League table and the squad: ESPN’s public sports data, refreshed several times a day.
- Season-by-season history since 1886, managers and player appearance totals: English Wikipedia lists (Wikipedia, List of Arsenal F.C. seasons (CC BY-SA 4.0); Wikipedia, List of Arsenal F.C. managers (CC BY-SA 4.0); Wikipedia, List of Arsenal F.C. players (CC BY-SA 4.0)).
- Player and manager biographies (date and place of birth, other clubs) and stadium facts: Wikidata (CC0).
Checks
- Every finished Premier League season computed from the match files is compared with the Wikipedia season list (played, won, drawn, lost, goals, points). Current mismatches: 0. A mismatch stops the update.
- Final positions are computed from all matches of each season and checked against the published position.
- Nothing is estimated or filled in: when a source has no value, the field is left blank.
