Kieran Tierney – the fans love him and players look up to him.
The Scot has taken Arsenal by storm and now he has achieved full fitness, the full-back is showing not just Gooners, but the entire Premier League what he is capable of.
A recent conversation on Talksport’s breakfast show between Laura Woods, Troy Deeney and Ally McCoist centred on the subject of our impressive defender. And the subject of who is the greatest left-back in the Premier League arose.
And Tierney certainly has a shout for it.
His rival for the crown would of course be his compatriot, Andrew Robertson of Liverpool. But with Ben Chilwell also doing great things at Chelsea, the fact Tierney is in the conversation amidst one of Arsenal’s worst ever seasons highlights what wonders he has been doing on our left side of defence.
All noises coming from teammates and the training ground, his coaches and manager at the club all speak of 100% dedication and professionalism. Tierney is humble and throws everything he has into everything he does. And his hard work is reaping rewards as he is gaining recognition for the fantastic displays – and consistency – he is putting in at Arsenal.
Talk of the captains armband is now emanating from our fanbase, and it is accelerated by the fact that Mikel Arteta himself speaks of Tierney as a leader and possible candidate for the captaincy.
In such a short space of time, Tierney has shown what a thorough approach and 100% focus on the job in hand can do. He has given everything to turn our form around and his goal against West Brom was a tangible show of the effort he is putting in, not to mention his talent. The raucous way he celebrated the goal shows how much he cares too.
Tierney is loving life at The Arsenal right now and we are loving Tierney. It won’t be long before he is leading us out – and let’s enjoy watching a pro footballer who loves the game just like we do.
